Listen I may be a smoothie lover but somehow up until now, I’ve avoided trying one of the many green smoothie recipes which I’ve come across. I would love to tell you it’s because I just haven’t had the time but honestly it’s because the color turned me off. I have this innate reflex to turn my nose up at any food that is good for me and generally speaking green foods are just that. Put me at a table with lovely carbs, fatty cheeses and a bunch of lean meats and bed and my inner foodie screams for the not -so good for me choices. Thankfully I have a smarter side, one which is health-focused and much braver than weak Julie. This week I took the plunge and made myself my first green smoothie recipe.
I found this green smoothie recipe in my KitchenAid Diamond Blender package which I’m reviewing…yup, she’s a beauty and so is this simple, healthy recipe.
- 1 cup cucumbers, diced
- 1 cup pineapple chunks
- 1 kiwi
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1 cup of water
Place all ingredients into the blender and blend on medium/high until it reaches your desired consistency. Pour into glasses and enjoy!
